Where do I even start about this past week?? We have been so busy... I got in bed at 8:30 last night!
We started off Christmas Eve at my Grandpa Pierce's lake house in Pickwick. It was an interesting Christmas Eve this year because the wind was so bad our power went out for most of the day, but that didn't ruin our celebrating!
For as long as I remember I have spent my Christmas Eve and the entire Pierce family comes together to celebrate.
Jeff was in charge of the turkey that night and it turned out SO good!
The Pierce family has a pretty unique Christmas tradition... all football season long the men of the family (years 16 and up) pick 10 games a week and whoever picks the least amount of games correct loses and is the Beer Bitch on Christmas Eve. The Beer Bitch has to dress up in the traditional BB garb and serve drinks all day! The winner gets a plaque that has every year's winner and loser engraved on it. Jeff has won the past two years in a row (the only two years he has participated, I am proud of my husband)!
My Dad was Beer Bitch this year!!
Christmas Eve night we drove to my Mom and Wesley's house to spend the night. We woke up and had Christmas breakfast and Santa Clause at their house... every year we get lottery tickets and everyone hopes to hit big. I think this year the big winner won $14, ha!
Christmas Day afternoon Jeff and I came home and exchanged gifts with each other, cooked steaks, opened some wine, and watched The Hangover. It was so nice to be able to spend Christmas with my husband just relaxing at the house. Jeff got me some good gifts... including an iPhone!!
The next day, Saturday, Jeff's parents came to our house and spent the night. My Mom and Wesley came for dinner that night too and we had SO much fun. We ate like pigs, had a few bottles of wine, and stayed up late laughing at Jeff's crazy stories of his childhood!!
Tomorrow we are flying down to Dallas for a couple of days to visit Jeff's sister Kelly and her family. I can't wait to see Kate and Lily at 3 months... Jeff and I are going to have to study some of their pictures tonight because I am embarrassed to admit, we probably won't be able to tell which baby is which!
AND THEN (nope I am not finished yet)... it is off to Houston to celebrate Christmas with the Beede family (Jeff's mother's side).
AND THEN... we fly home on Friday just in time to greet our friends coming in from Fayetteville for the Liberty Bowl. Our house will be full with some of our best friends and I just can't wait!!
Christmas seems to already be over for us (we took down all the decorations last night). But I am excited to continue the holiday celebrations with everyone this week.
